THINKING ABOUT THE PRESIDENCY

Perry Leavell of Drew University will present a program “Thinking about the Presidency” at the Clarence Dillon Public Library on Sunday, March 18, 2012. He will present his thoughts on the American Presidency past and present. The program will begin at 2:00 pm.

THE WAR OF 1812 LECTURE




Colorful History Channel commentator Bill Chemerka will lecture on the War of 1812 at the Clarence Dillon Public Library on Sunday, February 26, 2012. The program will begin at 2:00 pm. Sometimes described as “The Second War for Independence”, the War of 1812 was a military conflict fought between the United States and Great Britain mainly over British violations of U.S. maritime rights.

HONG KIEW KIM PIANO RECITAL



The brilliant young international pianist Hong Kiew Kim will perform at the Clarence Dillon Public Library on Sunday, February 12, 2012. He will perform a selection of classical music including pieces by Beethoven and Schubert. The recital will begin at 2:00 pm.

TCHAIKOVSKY AND THE "NUTCRACKER SUITE"



Russian composer Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and his famous composition “Nutcracker Suite” will be the subject of a lecture at the Clarence Dillon Public Library on Sunday, December 11, 2011. Library Director Sandy Putnam discusses the “Nutcracker Suite” in the context of Tchaikovsky’s life and career along with film clips of the beloved holiday classic. The program will begin at 2:00 pm.
