JUNE IS MYSTERY MOVIE MONTH





Join us on Tuesdays in June at 6:45 pm  for screenings of  some great mystery and suspense classic films.  The air conditioning is on and the popcorn and soda is on us.  The film series is free and no registration is required.

Bobby Driscoll stars as a nine-year-old boy who witnesses a murder in his apartment building but no one believes him except the murderers.  This film noir gem also stars Barbara Hale and Arthur Kennedy.

THE MAD MISS MANTON (1938) (80 min.) Not Rated
Barbara Stanwyck stars as a daffy socialite who stumbles across a body and recruits some of her high-class friends to help her solve a murder.  This madcap murder mystery also stars Henry Fonda and Hattie McDaniel.

THE PEARL OF DEATH (1944) (69 min.) Not Rated
Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce star as the famous detecting duo of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.  In this case, they must solve a series of murders that are linked to busts of Napoleon.  Based on the characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Margaret Rutherford is back as Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple and this time she is solving a maritime mystery.  This film also features Lionel Jeffries and Stringer Davis.  This was the last Miss Marple film for Margaret Rutherford and she does not disappoint.
