Composer Felix Mendelssohn is the subject of a lecture at the Clarence Dillon Public Library on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 2:00 pm.  Sandy Putnam, library director and frequent classical music lecturer, will cover Mendelssohn’s most beautiful works and his huge influence over all of 19th century music.A local middle school piano virtuoso will join Sandy in exploring Mendelssohn's music.
Felix Mendelssohn was a prolific and gifted composer who has been regarded by many as the 19th century equivalent of Mozart.  His “Wedding March” from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” has accompanied many a bride down the aisle.  Besides a composer, he was a talented pianist and conductor and founded the Leipzig Conservatory of Music.
The program will be held in the downstairs meeting rooms of the library.  Admission is free.  Enrollment is suggested but not required.  To enroll, please call the library at 908-234-2325 or email ref@dillonlibrary.org.
